The Crown Point Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer beginning Wednesday, April 23rd.

Applications can be picked up at the Crown Point Police Department, located at 124 N. East Street. They may also be accessed on-line at the city's website of www.crownpoint.in.gov.

All completed applications should be delivered to Deputy Chief Jim Janda at the Police Department.

All applicants are required to be graduates of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, or an accredited Police Academy from another state, and meet the minimum entrance standards for the PERF Pension.

Applicants will be required to pass a physical agility test, a comprehensive medical exam, polygraph examination and psychological exam.

Benefits include a take home squad car for those living within the established boundaries.

Probationary Officers pay is $39,400.14 with the applicant eligible to receive 1st Class Officers pay of $50,145.68 within the first year of employment.
