  • The Indiana State Police is asking for your assistance in implementing the Fast FARS.
The Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS) is funded by NHTSA to collect fatal crash statistics.  NHTSA now wishes to collect a limited amount of data within 24-48 hours of the crash.  The department’s FARS unit has created a simple form (Word or PDF) that can be completed and faxed or emailed to the section.  Currently the FARS staff monitors various news services and then contacts local agencies for the information, so your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the new firearm license envelopes should be available at every district.  Please switch to the new envelope with the P.O. Box on it as soon as possible.
