Message from the IACP President
Chief Scott Shoemaker
Frankfort Police Department

Welcome!  I am honored to lead the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police.  I have been a member of the organization since 2017.  I joined the board of directors in 2020 and am excited to serve you, as President, until the end of 2025.  The association has been a valuable tool for me as Chief of Police in Frankfort, Indiana.  I assure you that your membership, no matter the size of your department, will do the same as you create a legacy back home.

IACP is committed to focusing on issues important to law enforcement in Indiana.  We work closely with our partner associations to ensure representation at the state level.  At the local level, never hesitate to reach out to me as you negotiate (battle) your local policymakers for higher wages and better benefits for your officers.  I am more than willing to travel to help shine the light on our profession and the need for increased wages.  Recruitment is already hard enough due to the lack of people wanting to protect and serve their communities.  I applaud Chief’s and other local/state policymakers for stepping outside the box and creating modern salary and benefit proposals for their officers.

Each year, in January and August, we host conferences that I encourage you to attend.  We strive for an educational conference experience as well as a time to unwind and network with fellow police leaders in Indiana.  Please reach out to us today if you have any questions.  I look forward to meeting you and assisting in any way possible.

Chief Scott Shoemaker
President, Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police
