Message from the IACP President
Chief Jim Layne
Syracuse Police Department
Welcome to the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Since 1925, the IACP has brought agencies from across Indiana together for collaboration on current issues, legislation, training, and trends.
As a member of the IACP, you have the ability to network across Indiana, in open communication, with command staff from Indiana Law Enforcement and Federal agencies of all sizes. Over the last year, we have seen law enforcement agencies across the nation, individually and as a whole, come under literal and legislative attacks. In this quickly changing environment, calls for change in national and state legislation has rung out across the United States regarding law enforcement.
While changes are expected, the IACP Government Relations Committee and our state lobbyist continually monitor legislation and tirelessly work in the best interest of Indiana Law Enforcement. The IACP strives to bring together law enforcement leadership in professional collaboration and training through our winter and summer conferences, trade show, and IACP Foundation leadership training courses while offering a collective voice for all of Indiana Law Enforcement.
As we move into 2021, I look forward to serving and working with you as President of the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police Association.
